Trail Conditions

ATV Trails on Bayfield County Land are open. 


Trails on the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest are mostly open, but there are some trail and road route closures. Please check the Chequamegon-NicoletNational Forest website for the latest details.


The Tri-County Corridor is open from Superior to Ashland. There are still several areas on the eastern end that need attention from last year's flood but all known hazards have been identified and marked. Use caution when approaching ribbons, barricades, and cones.

When trails are open:

Report any downed trees or other issues as soon as possible to the Bayfield County Forestry & Parks Department at (715) 373-6114. 

As always, riders should use caution when out on the trails.  Please stay on the designated trails and routes and follow the trail signs. Be aware that there may be grooming equipment on the trails.

Trail maps can be found at area businesses and can also be viewed and ordered online along with updated trail conditions at Updated trail conditions can also be accessed by calling the Bayfield County Tourism office at (715) 373-6125 ext. 5.

Road routes and the Tri-County Corridor are open year 'round. This includes many forest roads that are designated on the new ATV/UTV map - available at area businesses and can also be ordered online.
